TM3 LHD Operator

Introduction

Operates haul trucks to haul and tip waste and ore to the waste dump and ore crusher according to instructions from Supervisor and in a manner that complies with standard operating procedures and required mining and safety standards. Duties & Responsibilities

• Attention to detail • Competent within Confined Space • Hand-eye co-ordination (Dover) • RFAC and HTS (Rehabilitation Fitness Assessment certificate) • HTS (Heat Tolerance Screening) DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure safe, efficient and proper use of all machinery, equipment and infrastructure to ensure health and safety requirements.
• Inspects the vehicle at the start of a shift for safety deviations according to a standard inspection checklist and reports any deviations to the Supervisor.
• Operates the LHD to load waste and ore at the required location and ensures that the LHD is not under or overloaded.
• Hauls the waste or ore to the required location and tips the load at the waste dump or ore crusher as required and according to instructions from the Supervisor.
• Identifies maintenance problems of the vehicle and reports such problems to the Supervisor in a timeous and accurate manner.
• Communicates any problems experienced and risks identified during shift with other Operators on shift in a timeous and accurate manner to maximize shift efficiency and ensures the safety of other Operators.
• Assists in achieving production targets and identify opportunities to improve operations.
• Conducts risk assessments as per the check list book.
• Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary.
• Ensures that any operational problem that is encountered is reported even if outside immediate area of responsibility.
• Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Grade 12 /STD 10 or NQF 4 is essential.
• 1-3 years' experience as TM3 Roofbolter Operator with LHD license is essential
• LHD Operator Competency Certificate is essential.
• An LHD Operator who have completed 4 - 6 months LHD operator training module is essential.
• 3 years' experience as an LHD Operator.
• 3 years' experience working in a TMM Mining environment
