Test Engineer - Mechatronic/High-Tech

Roles and Responsibilities

Develop and execute functional and performance tests on complex machinery and mechatronic systems. Perform system validation and verification against technical specifications and requirements. Conduct testing of mechanical, electrical, electronic and automated equipment. Perform calibration, adjustment and setup of equipment and systems. Identify, diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults during testing and commissioning. Analyse test results and identify deviations from required specifications. Investigate equipment failures and determine potential root causes. Implement and document appropriate corrective actions. Retest equipment following adjustments, repairs or modifications to confirm successful resolution. Work closely with design, engineering, production and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues. Interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, schematics and test procedures. Develop or improve test procedures and documentation where required. Record test results accurately and prepare technical reports. Support equipment integration and commissioning activities. Assist with the optimisation and improvement of machine performance and reliability. Ensure testing is conducted in accordance with relevant safety procedures and technical standards.

Testing & Technical Experience

The successful candidate should have practical experience with several of the following: Functional testing System validation and verification Equipment calibration Equipment adjustment and setup Mechanical and mechatronic troubleshooting Electrical and electronic troubleshooting Machine commissioning Integration testing Test-result analysis Root-cause investigation Corrective and preventative actions Measurement and diagnostic equipment Automated machinery and control systems The key requirement is that the candidate has personally tested and troubleshot physical machinery or integrated mechatronic equipment. Relevant Industries Experience in the following environments will be highly relevant: Machine building High-tech manufacturing Automotive Aviation and aerospace Industrial automation Precision engineering Precision equipment manufacturing Advanced manufacturing Special-purpose machinery

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in: Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics Engineering Automation Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Practical experience testing and troubleshooting physical machinery or mechatronic systems. Experience with equipment validation and functional testing. Ability to analyse test results and identify technical problems. Experience performing adjustments, calibration and corrective actions. Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
