Test Analyst

Introduction

We are looking for a Test Analyst to join a large enterprise technology portfolio as part of a multi-year programme to modernise back-office capabilities. You will provide end-to-end testing across multiple concurrent projects, covering functional, integration, end-to-end, industry and user acceptance testing. You will also coordinate and report on SIT/QA and UAT cycles through to formal sign-off.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tester with a banking or financial services background and strong stakeholder management skills.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Create test scenarios from business, functional and technical requirements, working with business stakeholders for user acceptance testing.

• Design accurate test cases that validate that business, functional, technical and industry requirements are met.

• Plan testing in a timely manner so that requirements are met and signed off on schedule.

• Execute test cases, analyse results, estimate testing effort accurately, and coordinate work activities with team members.

• Design and apply testing principles, build manual testing frameworks, and verify the best manual test approaches.

• Define regression packs based on critical business processes.

• Assist Automation Test Analysts with automation scripting and Performance Test Analysts with performance scripting.

• Coordinate and report on SIT/QA and UAT execution, and prepare sign-off documentation on completion.

• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders during end-to-end and industry testing.

• Produce key deliverables for each project, including:

• Test approach and test plans

• Test cases and test execution results

• Test progress reports and defect management reports

• Test deliverable sign-off certificates and test closure reports

• Knowledge transfer documentation per project, stored in an accessible repository

• Report to the Test Manager and provide management reporting.

• Perform other tasks closely related to the above.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in IT (Software Development), or an equivalent qualification

• ISTQB Foundation or Test Analyst certification

• Test automation certification (advantageous)

Experience

• 5 to 8 years’ experience in test execution and test analysis

• 3 to 6 years’ experience in functional and integration testing, including coordinating and reporting on UAT preparation, execution and sign-off

• Extensive knowledge of HP ALM

• Solid understanding of testing concepts, methodologies and techniques

• Knowledge of SWIFT standards and payment messages (MT and ISO 20022 preferred)

• Experience in banking and financial services

• Knowledge of different forms of communication and reporting

• Knowledge of the BPT (Business Process Testing) framework (advantageous)

• Automation testing experience (advantageous)
