Introduction

Our client is a State Owned Entity based in Pretoria. They are looking to appoint a Temporary Legal & Compliance Practitioner for a period of 6 months.

Duties & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Legal & Compliance Manager , the incumbent will provide legal support to all the directorates, ensure compliance with the supply chain management, and ensure legal compliance of all contractual agreements. The role requires an excellent organiser and communicator with a proactive and friendly attitude and a high degree of emotional maturity.

Key performance areas will include, but are not limited to

KPA 1: Ensuring effective and efficient provision of legal services

KPA 2: Ensuring effective and efficient provision of contract management services

KPA 3: Ensuring proper implementation of the Policy Framework

KPA 4: Ensuring proper implementation of the Compliance Framework

Desired Experience & Qualification

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications and experience:

LLB degree.

Minimum 5-8 years post-admission experience.

Admission as an attorney or advocate of the High Court (admitted legal practitioner).Compliance qualification and at least 5 years’ experience in compliance management.

Experience in drafting and vetting a variety of complex agreements.

Advanced knowledge of SCM legislation, policies, and processes applicable in the public sector or entity.

Positive attitude.Innovative thinking skills.

Ability to read, analyse and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardised situations.

Knowledge of legal platforms.

Compliance Management will be an added advantage.
