  • Our client, based in Bryanston, is seeking a seasoned and mature Bookkeeper to join their team temporarily, with a strong possibility of the role becoming permanent based on performance.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5 years + bookkeeping experience
  • Relevant accounting qualification
  • Handle pressure and deadline driven

Duties

  • Manage the full payroll administration process, including the preparation and posting of payroll journals, accruals, leave provisions, and bonus provisions where applicable.
  • Oversee and reconcile all intercompany transactions and balances, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Prepare VAT schedules and supporting documentation for submission to EY and assist with the accurate preparation of EMP201 and EMP501 returns for submission to SARS. Assist with Company tax collation.
  • Perform the full Accounts Payable function, including invoice processing, coding, verification, and posting within SAP.
  • Support annual external audits by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and responding to auditor queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Compile financial schedules, forecasts, and reports to support budgeting, IFRS 16 reporting requirements, and ASC 842 lease accounting journals.
  • Prepare and submit monthly KPI reporting packs and financial data to Group in accordance with reporting deadlines.
  • Develop, maintain, and analyse MI reports and financial schedules for Finance and Operational stakeholders.
  • Assume responsibility for the accounting records and financial processing of the Mauritius branch, Group US entities, and SCC Sapphire.
  • Manage and coordinate the month-end close process, ensuring all deadlines are achieved and financial information is complete and accurate.
  • Assist with ad hoc financial, reporting, and operational projects as required by management.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies.
