Duties & Responsibilities
TTK Surveillance is looking for a confident, professional and well-organised Telecanvasser / Office Assistant to support the company’s sales, marketing and administrative functions.
A key part of this position will involve contacting prospective clients, introducing TTK Surveillance’s services, identifying potential security requirements and arranging appointments or follow-ups for the sales team. The successful candidate will also provide general administrative support and assist with the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable making cold calls, speaking to business owners and decision-makers, working towards activity targets and maintaining accurate records of all calls and follow-ups.
Telecanvassing and Lead-Generation Responsibilities
- Make outbound cold calls to prospective business clients.
- Introduce TTK Surveillance and explain the company’s security and surveillance services.
- Identify potential clients who may require CCTV installations, off-site monitoring, access control, alarm systems, biometrics or related services.
- Ask relevant questions to establish the prospect’s security needs and level of interest.
- Identify and obtain the contact details of the appropriate decision-maker.
- Generate qualified leads and arrange appointments or site assessments for the sales team.
- Follow up on previous enquiries, proposals, marketing campaigns and inactive leads.
- Maintain professional relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Work from approved prospect lists and conduct basic research to identify new potential clients.
- Keep accurate records of calls, conversations, outcomes and scheduled follow-ups.
- Update the company’s lead tracker, database or CRM system.
- Meet agreed daily or weekly targets for calls, qualified leads and appointments.
- Provide regular feedback on client responses, objections and market opportunities.
- Follow approved scripts and company guidelines while keeping conversations natural and professional.
- Ensure that all telemarketing activities are conducted professionally and in accordance with applicable privacy and direct-marketing requirements.
Office Administration Responsibilities
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls, emails and general enquiries.
- Welcome visitors and assist clients professionally.
- Provide administrative support to management and relevant departments.
- Prepare and format letters, reports, quotations and other documents.
- Maintain accurate electronic and physical filing systems.
- Capture and update client, prospect, supplier and operational information.
- Assist with appointment scheduling, meetings and staff activities.
- Assist with job cards, service requests and supporting documentation.
- Liaise with clients regarding appointments, outstanding information and general enquiries.
- Communicate with technicians, control-room personnel and other staff when required.
- Assist with supplier enquiries and delivery follow-ups.
- Monitor office supplies and arrange replenishment when required.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling company, employee and client information.
- Perform other reasonable administrative duties assigned by management.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous telemarketing, telesales, cold-calling, lead-generation or customer-service experience.
- Previous office administration experience would be advantageous.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable contacting new prospects and handling rejection or objections.
- Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and email.
- Accurate data-capturing and record-keeping skills.
- Good organisational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work towards targets and follow up consistently.
- Fluent in English; additional South African languages would be advantageous.
- Reliable transport to and from Edenvale.
- Experience in the security, CCTV, technical or service industry would be advantageous.
