Job Title: Technician position Start Date: 2026-06-18 - 2026-07-31 Vacancy Type: Permanent PTA025983 Sectors: Engineering Location: SA - Western Cape , Cape Town - CBD Salary: R30 000 Brief: We're seeking a qualified and experienced Technician to join our Malmesbury facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance of plant equipment and the supervision of maintenance staff to ensure optimal operational performance. Salary: R30 000 CTC Detail: Minimum requirements: Grade 12 / Matric. Qualified Trade Test (Mechanical or Electrical). Experience 3–5 years' engineering experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment Planned Maintenance Perform preventative and corrective maintenance activities. Complete and manage maintenance job cards accurately and timeously. Prioritise and allocate maintenance work effectively. Ensure maintenance check sheets are completed and submitted accurately. Maintain acceptable turnaround times for all maintenance tasks. Unplanned Maintenance Ensure prompt response to equipment breakdowns. Accurately report downtime and maintenance activities. Maintain a high standard of workmanship and repair quality. Site Housekeeping & Facility Management Maintain clean and organised maintenance areas. Take ownership of the designated facility and maintenance areas. Ensure all areas meet Cavalier operational standards. Monitor and maintain temperature specifications where applicable. Report any deviations from company policies and procedures. Participate in standby duties as required. People Management Supervise and lead the maintenance team. Foster a positive and productive team environment. Monitor work completion and productivity. Manage staff attendance and timekeeping. SHEQ Compliance Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety requirements. Promote and enforce the correct use of PPE. Maintain process and product hygiene standards.
