- We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Diesel Mechanic/Technician with strong diagnostic and electrical experience. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working on Hybrid and/or Fully Electric vehicles, as well as a solid understanding of modern vehicle electrical and electronic systems
Key Responsibilities
- Provide fault-finding, diagnostic and technical services on trucks and vehicles to support and accelerate repair work.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and electronic vehicle systems.
- Perform diagnostics using relevant diagnostic equipment and interpret results accurately.
- Work on Hybrid and/or Fully Electric vehicles, including relevant electrical and high-voltage systems.
- Assist mechanics with complex technical problems and provide clear, accurate technical guidance.
- Complete all forms, job cards and documentation required as part of the Company's service routines.
- Draft and prepare technical reports as required.
- Communicate professionally with customers and ensure that technical queries are clearly addressed.
- Deliver excellent customer service by strictly adhering to established procedures and processes.
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
- Keep up to date with developments in Hybrid, EV, electrical and automotive diagnostic technology.
Requirements
Key Requirements
- Matric / N3
- Trade Test Certificate – Qualified Diesel Mechanic
- Previous experience as a qualified Technician/Diesel Mechanic
- Previous automotive electrical/auto-electrical experience
- Hands-on experience working on Hybrid and/or Fully Electric vehicles is essential
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment
- High-voltage/EV training or certification will be an added advantage
Core Competencies
- Strong mechanical, electrical and electronic diagnostic skills.
- Proven practical experience working on Hybrid and/or Fully Electric vehicles is essential.
- Ability to read and interpret relevant measuring and diagnostic equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge and ability to perform accurate repair work.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams and specifications and apply them effectively.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing English.
- Computer literacy is essential.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's licence.
