- ACDC Dynamics, a leading manufacturer, importer, and distributor of quality products in the electrical, electronics, pumps, and tools industry.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
- The Technical Trainer is responsible for developing and delivering technical and product training to the sales team within an electrical wholesale environment.
- The role will ensure that sales staff have the technical knowledge, product understanding, and practical confidence required to effectively advise customers, recommend appropriate solutions, and drive sales.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Product Training
- Develop and deliver technical training programmes for internal sales staff.
- Provide comprehensive training on electrical products, equipment, systems, and applications.
- Ensure sales staff understand product specifications, features, benefits, applications, and limitations.
- Translate complex technical information into practical, easy-to-understand sales knowledge.
- Train staff on new products, product ranges, product upgrades, and supplier innovations.
- Conduct practical demonstrations where appropriate.
- Keep training material up to date with changes in products, technology, standards, and industry practices.
Sales Enablement
- Equip sales staff with the technical knowledge required to confidently engage with customers.
- Help sales teams understand customer applications and identify appropriate product solutions.
- Develop product comparison guides, quick-reference material, FAQs, and sales support tools.
- Train staff on how to communicate technical features as customer benefits.
- Identify technical knowledge gaps within the sales team and develop training to address them.
- Support the sales team with technical queries and product-related challenges.
- Training Delivery
- Conduct classroom, workshop, online, and on-the-job training sessions.
- Assess employees' technical knowledge and identify areas requiring additional development.
- Develop structured induction training for new sales employees.
- Provide refresher training and ongoing technical development for existing employees.
- Maintain appropriate records of training attendance, assessments, and competency levels.
- Measure the effectiveness of training and make improvements where required.
Requirements
- Recognised electrical trade qualification — e.g. Electrician / Electrical Engineering qualification appropriate to the country.
- Relevant industry experience — ideally 5+ years in electrical contracting, electrical wholesale, manufacturing, technical sales, or a similar environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical products and applications — including lighting, protection, distribution, cabling, switchgear, automation, tools, or other relevant product categories.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical standards and regulations — sufficient to train sales staff on correct product selection and application.
- Training/facilitation qualification — a recognised Train-the-Trainer, Facilitator, Adult Education, or Occupational Training qualification is highly desirable.
- Technical product training experience — experience presenting or training staff, customers, contractors, or other industry professionals.
