Job Description

  • Plan all related maintenance work and assign the appropriate priority to all tasks.
  • Plan project tasks.
  • Co-ordinate the weekly planning meetings.
  • Maintain asset management data.
  • Compile, update and issue reports.
  • Initiate and co-ordinate the updating of Standards/ Codes of Practice.
  • Coach and train enterprise asset management systems users.
  • Actively support and promote safety and accident prevention.
  • Provide general staff management.
  • Monitor and report financial performance against the Budget.
  • Disseminates information.
  • Accept appointment in terms of the Occupational Health & Safety Act 1993 and regulations as required by the Director Electricity.
  • Undertake other related duties.

Essential Requirements

  • National Diploma NQF Level 6 in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa ECSA.
  • Valid Basic First Aid certificate or to be completed within 6-12 months from date of appointment.
  • Valid motor vehicle driving license.
  • 5 years relevant post registration experience.
  • Computer Literacy.

Special Conditions

  • 40 hour-5 day week; flexi hours to be agreed with Deputy Head: Technical Support.
  • Protective Clothing as per the PPE.
  • Incumbents will be subject to transfer/ relocation to any of the Electricity Directorate's depots or divisions as required.
