Technical Metallurgist

Introduction

Mogale Tailings Retreatment (Pty) Ltd, a subsidiary of Pan African Resources (Pty) Ltd based in Krugersdorp is looking for Technical Metallurgist . As a Technical Metallurgist, you will be responsible to control the plant within the technical specifications/parameters defined. Ensure technical audit of the plant is conducted to required standards. Provide technical support to Senior Metallurgist and production manager of plant operations. Ensure that recommendations as to plant improvement are considered in the “specifications/parameters” review process. In this position, attention to detail is a must.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in ensuring that Safety, health and environment are compiled within the plant.

• Implementation of the technical standards and procedures in the operations.

• Ensure that technical standards are met and maintained in the operations.

• Audit compliance to “specification/parameters” and liaise with plant personnel.

• Identify ongoing potential areas for plant process improvement.

• Ongoing technical support to plant production team to achieve operational goals.

• Provide detailed analyses of process control/plant performance relationships.

• Co-ordinate metal accounting, accuracy, reporting, and metal monitoring.

• Monitor production performance metrics and analyze data to identify trends and opportunities for process optimization.

• Conduct research and analysis to identify areas of improvement in production processes and develop solutions to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

• Assist to ensure a stable and sustainable plant performance within the metallurgical plant.

Desired Experience & Qualification

• 5 years or more extensive post qualification experience in technical management of extractive metallurgy of gold processes or development projects.

• Metallurgical process and plant operating skills.

• Strong supervisory and leadership qualities.

• Grade 12/ Matric essential.

• B Eng. Metallurgy/Chemical Engineering or similar.

• Post graduate qualification will be advantageous.

• No criminal record.
