Introduction

Facilitate learning for the skills development of apprentices, development of interns/beneficiaries in their respective discipline, facilitate, assess, and moderate learners as per the QCTO/ECSA/logbook requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Performance Pillar

•Procurement of consumables and training material

•Assist with the preparation of quotations and programme planning for clients

•Operate in a cost effective way

Business Processes Pillar

•Responsible for technical training of apprentices/interns in the Millwright discipline

•Assess logbooks reports of apprentices/interns

•Identifying hazards and drive continuous improvements

•Conducting risk assessments

•Assist the lead instructor to conduct daily inspection of equipment and machines in the workshops

•Assist the lead instructor with the responsibility of the workshop tools and machines and keep Mandatory registers up to date

•Assist with the responsibility for signing of interns’ logbooks

•Maintain discipline in the workshop through monitoring attendance and punctuality, adhering training hours

•Handle disciplinary issues when required in conjunction with HR staff

•Assist in all the aspects of training but not limited to as per company requirements

•Assist lead instructor with the data to conduct general administrative duties and submit monthly reports to training manager

•Prepare, monitor and control individual training plans related to each learner

•Monitor and control all learner control sheets, logbooks and other accreditation documentation, including uploading of assessments

•Implement all health & safety (HS) procedures and policies in electrical workshop

•Interview, assess and select learners for learnership/internship programmes

•Assist the lead Instructor with developing of training materials

•Prepare and submit modules assessed and moderated to be uploaded

•Adherence to all RC ISO standard practices and all RC policies

•Manage stock control of consumable equipment

•Manage learner toolboxes: Supply, control of tools within, control when learners are being placed

•To attend all relevant meetings, including the weekly technical meeting, MerSETA and other SETA meetings as needed

•Ensure that interns adhere to Health and Safety regulations

•Monitor daily housekeeping in the workshops

•Assist in all the aspects of training but not limited to as per company requirements

•To accurately and timeously complete all documentation as needed by the departmental or RC policies and procedures.

•To visit learners and clients at the respective operations

•To report all faulty equipment and or venue infrastructure to lead instructor

•Conduct an evaluation during and after training, to meet the stakeholders expectations

•Implement all CRM feedback, complete detailed reports of the electrical workshop

•Ensure 100% success learners’s competence rate

•Attend RC, departmental and stakeholder meetings and workshops to keep abreast of latest developments at such events.

•Plan own learning and training schedule to ensure effective execution of own job and support the lifelong learning philosophy.

•Participate and contribute to problem solving discussions and ideation for innovation in the workplace in support of the continuous improvement & healthy workplace philosophy.

•Be the custodian of own and departmental

Desired Experience & Qualification

•Matric or N3

•Trade Test Certificate: Millwright

•2 - 3 years’ relevant technical experience, preferably in a training environment

•MS office

•Time management

•Customer relationship skills

•Business etiquette

•Communication

•Occupational specific legislation e.g. specific engineering legislation, labor legislation, SAQA

•Safety, health & environment legislation and regulations

•Quality regulations e.g. ISO

•Developing procedures & systems, operational planning, measuring & evaluating performance

•Report writing, supervisory skills, problem solving, team player, results driven, initiative taker, assertiveness skills
