Technical Draughtsman

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Draughtsman to join a multidisciplinary engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate 2D drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation for a wide range of engineering projects. This role requires strong technical drafting skills, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to work across mechanical, electrical, structural, and multidisciplinary engineering environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D engineering drawings and 3D models from engineering concepts, calculations, sketches, and technical instructions.
• Develop drawings through concept, detailed design, construction, and as-built stages.
• Produce general arrangement drawings, layouts, sections, elevations, installation details, and construction documentation.
• Create and maintain Revit models and coordinated engineering drawings.
• Prepare and update AutoCAD drawings as required.
• Produce fabrication, assembly, and component drawings using SolidWorks where applicable.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, technical documentation, and supplier information.
• Incorporate engineering revisions and design changes accurately into drawings and models.
• Coordinate drawings and models across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Identify and resolve drawing clashes, inconsistencies, and coordination issues.
• Conduct site visits, surveys, and measurements to verify existing conditions and installation requirements.
• Produce drawings based on site measurements, mark-ups, survey information, and red-line updates.
• Prepare and maintain accurate as-built documentation.
• Assist with equipment layouts, schematics, schedules, bills of materials, and technical documentation.
• Manage drawing registers, revisions, numbering systems, and document control processes.
• Ensure compliance with company drafting standards, project requirements, and industry conventions.
• Support engineers and project teams with drawings for tenders, reports, construction packages, and project handovers.
• Liaise with engineers, contractors, suppliers, and project stakeholders to ensure accurate and coordinated project information.
