• Matric / Senior Certificate Requirements
• Valid drivers license • Minimum 3 to 5 years' procurement experience, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing, mining or heavy-equipment environment. • Able to read drawings and component diagrams would be advantageous • Strong knowledge of purchasing processes and supplier management • Experience with mechanical, hydraulic or engineering components will be an advantage • Computer skills and experience with ERP/accounting systems • Work under pressure and manage multiple orders and deadlines • Compliance with company and ISO procedures • Able to work independently • Honest and ethical when dealing with suppliers • Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal departments • On-time delivery of required materials • Accurate purchase orders and procurement records Duties
- Source and purchase parts, components, raw materials, consumables and services
- Obtain and compare supplier quotations and negotiate pricing and terms
- Work closely with Stores, Workshop, QC, Service and Management
- Resolve any issues with suppliers
- Monitor supplier performance and escalate ongoing problems
- Ensure procurement is conducted in line with company procedures and ISO 9001 requirements
- Assist with cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or reliability
