- To provide technical, maintenance, and administrative support by ensuring that equipment, systems, and assets are effectively maintained, monitored, and managed to support efficient departmental operations and service delivery.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Conduct routine inspections of plant rooms and hospital technical infrastructure.
- Assist with preventative and reactive maintenance, including breakdown response.
- Monitor and support generators, UPS systems, HVAC, pumps, water systems, medical gases, lifts, and related equipment.
- Perform basic fault finding and escalate complex technical issues where required.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, job cards, and service reports.
- Assist with asset management, inventory control, and equipment tracking.
- Coordinate and monitor contractors working on site.
- Follow up on outstanding maintenance work and verify completed repairs.
- Assist with minor projects, installations, and renovations.
- Provide technical support to theatres, ICU, wards, emergency units, and other critical hospital areas.
- Ensure compliance with hospital health, safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Grade 12 Matric certificate.
- N6 Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification essential.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare facilities environment.
- Basic knowledge of hospital engineering systems and maintenance practices will be advantageous.
