Our client, a leading international agricultural company, is looking for a driven and relationship-focused Technical Advisor - Ruminants to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal .
- This is an exciting opportunity for an agricultural professional who is passionate about livestock production, enjoys working directly with dairy farmers, and has a flair for building long-term relationships while growing sales. The successful candidate will receive a comprehensive two-year technical training programme , providing continuous product knowledge and professional development within a globally recognised organisation.
- This is a predominantly field-based role. You will spend most of your time visiting dairy farmers throughout KwaZulu-Natal, providing technical support and growing business within your territory. You will report to the office approximately one day per week , with the remainder of your time spent servicing customers in the field.
Minimum Requirements
- Agricultural Degree or Diploma Degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years' external sales experience within the agricultural industry, preferably animal feed, feed mills or related sectors
- Experience working with dairy farmers or within the dairy industry will be highly advantageous
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English
- Valid driver's licence
- Own reliable vehicle
- Willingness to travel extensively throughout KwaZulu-Natal
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new business opportunities within the dairy farming sector
- Manage, retain and grow an existing customer base
- Build strong, long-term relationships with commercial dairy farmers
- Promote and sell the company's ruminant nutrition product range
- Provide technical product support and on-farm advice to customers
- Achieve sales targets while increasing market share within the territory
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends and identify new business opportunities
- Maintain accurate customer records and sales reports

- Is self-motivated, target-driven and able to work independently
- Has excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
- Is comfortable spending the majority of their time in the field visiting customers
