Role Purpose

  • Responsible for coordinating Packing Plant operations, ensuring production targets are achieved, manpower is effectively utilised, and work areas are maintained to the required standards.

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities Health & Safety:

  • Compliance with all EH&S guidelines and procedures.

Key Tasks

  • Supervise manpower-related planning.
  • Production output target: 350 pallets per shift.
  • Supervise Packing Plant operations.
  • Generate hourly and shift reports.
  • Ensure spotless housekeeping and cleaning in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2 at the end of each shift.
  • Submit reports after every shift.
  • Oversee Bulk Bag operations.
  • Maintain discipline in Packing Plant Lines 1 & 2.
  • Ensure zero lost production time.
  • Minimise spillages and perform RCA where required.
  • Supervise department staff.
  • Coordinate and allocate duties to department staff to ensure effective operations.
  • Ensure the department meets production targets.
  • Conduct routine checks of all areas to ensure they are neat and orderly.
  • Assist with breakdowns and maintenance.

Other

  • Perform any other related duties in the interest of CEMZA as instructed.
  • Work according to Integrated Environmental and Quality Management System requirements.
  • Work according to instructions and procedures pertaining to the assigned operational function.
  • Abide by all applicable legal requirements, company policies, and practices.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Meet or exceed all relevant KPIs and Plant objectives.
  • Achieve the required production output of 350 pallets per shift.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, safety, and discipline.
  • Minimise production downtime and spillages.

Qualification & Experience

  • Senior Certificate.
  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in manufacturing, preferably in the cement industry.
  • Experience in fabricating, fitting, and assembling structural components of mechanical systems, as well as maintaining and repairing machinery, will be an advantage.
