B.Eng. in Computer, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering is required. We require 5+ years of experience in military system development. Cutting-edge product development for control systems and weaponry. A person with experience taking a project and product across the entire product lifecycle is required. Detail: Systems Engineer Midrand QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: B.Eng in Computer, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering. More than 5 years' experience in systems engineering in the defence and military environment. More than 5 years' experience in military system development and/or environment. Strong technical understanding of defence products, particularly weapons or weapon systems A deep understanding of the defence sector, particularly in the design and implementation of systems. Familiarity with defence industry standards and regulatory requirements is essential. RESPONSIBILITIES: Work on multiple cutting-edge projects simultaneously. Collaborate closely with the engineering and business development teams to translate client requirements into detailed technical specifications and documentation. Develop and maintain system documentation, ensuring alignment with industry standards and client expectations. Review and interpret proposals, ensuring that the technical team fully understands and can meet contractual obligations. Assist in managing and prioritising the engineering and business development backlog, streamlining workflows to improve responsiveness. Conduct regular reviews to ensure compliance with defence industry standards and practices. Act as a liaison between engineering and business development to facilitate effective communication and timely project completion. Lead technical reviews and ensure that the formal systems engineering process is followed. Support the team in preparing technical documentation for proposals and ensure accuracy in the representation of product capabilities and specifications. Perform low-level design work within your area of expertise (The expectation is to remain hands-on in design work where required) Contribute across the complete product life cycle, from concept generation, prototyping, and design for manufacturing, through industrialisation, testing, optimisation, safety certification, qualification, and integration. Be the technical interface to customers for assigned projects. Coordinate and participate in system integration and test activities to achieve system qualification.
