System Analyst / Business Analyst - Investment Management

An oppportunity is avaialable at a leading Asset manager based in Cape Town.  The successful candidate will work in the Business Analyst team within an Asset Management company to help provide technology solutions to enable business goals and create efficiencies. Your relevant industry experience together with a strong skillset in systems and data will give you the toolset to add value in an environment that is striving to provide first class solutions to a growing business.

Duties & Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Be the custodian of business and system processes in the operational environments

Have a strategic view on projects and systems and see the big picture

Develop business requirement specifications

Develop functional and technical specifications

Develop system integration specifications at the data level

Analyse and test systems as part of investigations and system changes.

Work with in-house and 3rd party technical resources for the development and implementation of business applications

Continuously identify and implement incremental improvements to current processes, independent of larger project deliverables

Effective stakeholder management

Mentoring of junior team members

Help to strengthen IT team processes and standards

Advantageous requirements

Experience in Unit Trust Fund Accounting

Experience in Investment Management

Experience in Trading or Order Management platforms

Basic SQL and programming skills

Desired Experience & Qualification

Relevant degree, diploma, or certificate in IT

Extensive business or systems analysis experience

Solid understanding of relational databases and ability to analyse data

Track record of working in system and data focused environments
