- Operate and manage the hospital switchboard efficiently and professionally
- Answer all incoming calls promptly, courteously and professionally
- Direct calls accurately to the correct departments, extensions or doctors' rooms
- Ensure that the switchboard is attended at all times during allocated working hours
- Take and relay messages clearly and timeously where required
- Make clear and accurate intercom announcements when requested
- Maintain the confidentiality of all hospital, patient and staff information
- Maintain professional conduct, focus and attention at the switchboard during operating hours
- Build positive stakeholder relationships, uphold Melomed's Values and comply with all applicable policies and procedures
Requirements
- 1-2 years' experience in a switchboard and/or reception environment
- Good verbal communication and listening skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Professional telephone manner with strong customer service and interpersonal skills
