This role is suited to candidates with between 0 and 4 years of general working experience. Previous experience within a healthcare, laboratory or similar environment will be advantageous, although it is not essential. Experience in supporting administrative functions, engaging professionally with customers or patients, or assisting with general operational activities will be beneficial. Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is organised, dependable and motivated to contribute positively to a team-focused environment where learning and development are encouraged. Skills Requirements Success in this role requires a combination of organisational ability, attention to detail and a service-oriented approach. You should be comfortable carrying out basic administrative and clerical activities accurately and efficiently, while maintaining a professional and approachable manner when interacting with patients, visitors and colleagues. Strong communication skills will help you respond clearly and respectfully to enquiries, provide assistance when required and build positive working relationships across different teams. You should be able to follow established procedures, guidelines and quality standards with care and consistency, ensuring that documentation, specimen handling and routine administrative processes are completed accurately. Good organisational and time management skills will enable you to manage a variety of tasks effectively and contribute to the smooth running of daily operations. You should be comfortable working both independently and collaboratively, supporting colleagues when needed and contributing to a positive and productive working environment. Basic computer literacy and the ability to use relevant systems confidently will support your effectiveness in performing routine clerical and operational duties. Above all, you will demonstrate professionalism, reliability and a commitment to delivering quality support that helps others succeed. Role Impact As a Support Clerk, your contribution will help create an efficient, organised and welcoming environment for both patients and colleagues. By providing dependable administrative and operational support, you will assist in ensuring that important processes run smoothly and that teams are able to focus on delivering quality service and care. Your role will include supporting routine laboratory operations through activities such as specimen preparation, labelling, batching, reporting and stock-related tasks within scope, while also assisting with clerical duties including documentation management, data capturing and handling telephonic enquiries. Where required, you may also support patient reception activities and provide general assistance with the collection and delivery of specimens, reports and documentation. Every task you complete contributes to a workplace where collaboration, service excellence and accountability are valued.
