MANAGER: SUPPLY CHAIN & ASSET MANAGEMENT

Job Grade: D2 | KuGompo City, Eastern Cape

Our client, a provincial public entity in the Eastern Cape , is seeking an experienced and suitably qualified Manager: Supply Chain & Asset Management to oversee the end-to-end supply chain management value chain, asset management, insurance and contract management functions.

MAIN OBJECTIVE

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end Supply Chain Management value chain , ensuring that organisational assets and operations are adequately covered by insurance, and ensuring effective contract management across the organisation.

REQUIREMENTS

NQF Level 7 Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Diploma in

Commerce

Supply Chain Management

Purchasing & Logistics

or an equivalent qualification

5–7 years' relevant experience , of which at least 4 years must be at management level

Advanced computer skills

Knowledge of financial management systems

Proficiency in at least one financial management system

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful incumbent will be responsible for

Developing and implementing Supply Chain and Asset Management strategies, plans, policies and procedures

Ensuring compliance with applicable legislative and regulatory requirements

Managing Supply Chain Management and logistics functions

Identifying, assessing and managing SCM-related risks

Managing the implementation of the asset management system

Overseeing asset registers, asset verification, acquisitions and maintenance

Ensuring assets are safeguarded and accurately recorded

Managing demand planning, forecasting, expenditure and market analysis

Developing acquisition, operational and disposal plans

Managing strategic sourcing and procurement processes

Ensuring compliance with PFMA and Treasury Regulations

Assessing value for money and identifying appropriate service providers

Managing inventory and stock control processes

Overseeing contract and lease registers

Monitoring and reporting on contracts and agreements

Participating in procurement committees

Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual reports

Managing risk, staff performance, training and capacity building
