Job Description
- Autoworx is looking for an experienced Supervisor: Production based at our Durban Speed shop branch. This position is an ideal opportunity for someone eager to apply their leadership, and operations management experience to oversee workshop activities, ensure efficient day-to-day operations, maintain high standards of workmanship and service quality, support team development, and contribute to the continued success of Autoworx's workshop operations.
Position Overview
- The purpose of the position is to coordinate, plan, deliver and manage daily team tasks in the panelshop workshop environment and the execution of standard operating procedures, resulting in the achievement of quality and service standards, agreed daily and weekly operating targets, and effective cost and productivity management
Minimum Experience
- 5 years' or more relevant trade experience.
Minimum Qualification
- Grade 12 Matric or equivalent.
- Advantageous: Relevant trade qualification.
Minimum Requirements
- Advantageous: Knowledge of panel shop operating systems TMS, Vantage, Dr Smash.
- Familiarity with autobody repair administrative requirements.
- Advantageous: Background in compliance and/or health and safety within an autobody environment.
- Basic computer literacy.
Job Outputs
- Manage the achievement of ETA dates.
- Maintain focus on moving vehicles through the repair process timeously.
- Plan jobs through the system and update dates on TMS.
- Check the accuracy of work carried out as per the job card.
- Ensure all new parts are fitted correctly to vehicles.
- Check quality across all departments throughout the repair process.
- Ensure cleanliness within the workshop is maintained at all times.
- Ensure health and safety requirements are adhered to.
- Oversee overall production operations.
- Determine which jobs should be outsourced versus repaired internally.
- Follow up on outstanding parts.
- Follow up with outsourced partners on the latest ETA.
- Communicate all reworks to the Branch Manager.
- Follow up on repairs and maintenance.
- Ensure pressure tests are completed and recorded on TMS.

Working Conditions
- Workshop-based role with exposure to paint fumes and chemicals PPE provided.
- May require overtime, weekend work, or shift work depending on operational needs.
- Physically demanding role requiring standing, bending, and lifting.
