Structural Engineer

Our client is seeking a dynamic Structural Engineer to join their team in Illovo, Johannesburg. This opportunity offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of building projects, providing the successful candidate with the chance to work across residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering input across a variety of building projects.
• Assist with the design and delivery of structural engineering solutions.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical input where required.
• Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, consultants and other professional team members.
• Support project coordination and management activities.
• Prepare and review technical documentation and structural information.
• Ensure project requirements and relevant engineering standards are met.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of projects within required timeframes.

Project Exposure May Include

• Large retail centres.
• Commercial office developments, including projects with deep basements.
• High-rise apartment buildings.
• Luxury residential homes.
• Township housing developments.
• Industrial distribution centres and warehouses.
• Mixed-use developments.
• Client-specific structural projects.

Requirements

• BSc or BTech degree in Civil Engineering.
• 3–5 years' relevant structural engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Revit and Tekla software.
• Project management skills.
• Ability to conduct site inspections.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to liaise confidently with a professional multidisciplinary team.
• A collaborative and solutions-focused approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
