Structural Design Engineer

Introduction

Our company is a world leader in the design, manufacturing and supply of unique physical perimeter security barriers. We currently require the services of an experienced Intermediate Structural Steel Design Engineer to join our design team.

Duties & Responsibilities

Role and Responsibilities

• Engage directly with clients to understand their technical requirements, project objectives and challenges.

• Design structural components for projects, including analysing survey information, geotechnical reports and client requirements.

• Translate client requirements into practical, safe and cost-effective engineering solutions.

• Maintain professional and effective communication with clients throughout the design process.

• Analysing steel and concrete structures.

• Evaluating safety and ensuring compliance with various international codes and regulations.

• Use AutoCAD and other drafting software programs to create 2D designs and 3D models.

• Collaborate with internal design, engineering, manufacturing and project teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• BEng/BSc/BTech in Structural Engineering with 5+ years post-graduate work experience .

Preferred Skills

• Proficient with Prokon Structural Analysis.

• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit.

• Strong client-facing and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with clients and understand their requirements.

• Ability to translate client needs into practical engineering solutions.

• Decisive, with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Strong analytical and technical skills.

• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Experience with international design standards and codes will be beneficial.
