A leading international technical manufacturing company is looking for a reliable and hands-on Storeman to join its operations team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatching of materials and finished goods, while maintaining stock accuracy, traceability and an organised stores environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive and inspect incoming deliveries against purchase orders and delivery notes.
- Check quantities, item codes, condition and required documentation, and report discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Pick and pack production and sales orders accurately.
- Prepare and issue picking bins and kits to Production according to project or production orders.
- Maintain FIFO/FEFO stock rotation and accurate stock traceability.
- Pack finished goods, spares and sales orders according to customer and transport requirements.
- Prepare and verify dispatch documentation and assist with loading and handover to authorised carriers or customers.
- Maintain organised shelving, clear labelling and accurate bin locations.
- Monitor and replenish Kanban stock levels and report shortages.
- Assist with stock takes, cycle counts and stock-location verification.
- Perform authorised local collections and deliveries where required.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment when trained and authorised.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores environment.
- Support urgent production requirements, shortages and priority dispatches.
- Identify and suggest improvements to storage, picking, packing and general stores processes.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in stores, warehousing, dispatch or a manufacturing-materials environment.
- Ability to accurately read item codes, purchase orders, picking documents and delivery notes.
- Valid South African driver's licence.
- Forklift licence would be advantageous, or willingness to obtain the required training.
- Physically able to perform routine material-handling duties safely.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate counting and checking skills.
- Reliable, punctual and well organised.
- Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow procedures.
- Good teamwork and customer-service skills.
- Responsible in the handling of stock, vehicles, tools and equipment.
Package & Remuneration
R 17 000 - R 20 000 CTC per month, no overtime
