The Storeman/Driver is responsible for the accurate handling, movement, and control of stock within the warehouse. This includes receiving, putting away, picking, stocktaking, and ensuring that stock is managed efficiently and correctly. The role also requires assisting with receiving and dispatch functions as needed to support the smooth flow of operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Stock Put Away:
  • Accurately store incoming stock in designated bin locations.
  • Ensure correct labelling and system updates for all items.
  • Picking & Dispatch Preparation:
  • Pick stock for customer and internal orders according to picking slips.
  • Check accuracy of picked items before dispatch.
  • Assist in preparing orders for courier or direct customer collection.
  • Receiving Assistance:
  • Support receiving by checking incoming goods against delivery notes.
  • Report discrepancies or damages to the supervisor immediately.
  • Stock Control:
  • Participate in cycle counts, stock takes, and spot checks.
  • Monitor stock variances and report irregularities.
  • Housekeeping:
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Follow all health & safety guidelines.
  • General Support:
  • Assist team members in dispatch and receiving when required.
  • Handle stock responsibly to prevent damage and losses.
  • Any other reasonable requests
  • Deliveries
  • When required, assist with delivery and collections

Skills & Competencies

  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work systematically.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Basic computer literacy (ERP/WMS experience beneficial).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse/store man role (advantageous).
  • Physically fit and able to handle manual lifting.
  • Knowledge of warehouse safety standards and practices.
  • Valid drivers license
