Our client, a global engineering and construction company is currently seeking to appoint two Storemen to join a large-scale solar PV and battery energy storage (BESS) project in Postmasburg, Northern Cape. This is a project-based contract until November 2027.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and verify incoming materials, equipment, tools and spares.
- Ensure correct binning, labelling and storage of materials.
- Issue materials and equipment in accordance with project procedures.
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels.
- Conduct stock counts, cycle counts and reconciliations.
- Monitor stock movements and report discrepancies, shortages or damaged items.
- Maintain accurate receiving and issuing documentation.
- Assist with the control of tools, PPE, consumables, equipment and spares.
- Maintain good housekeeping and organisation within the stores area.
- Operate material-handling equipment when required.
- Comply with all project HSE requirements and procedures.
- Support the Stores Supervisor with general stores and materials-management activities.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working as a Storeman, Stores Clerk, Warehouse Assistant or similar.
- Experience working on large construction, mining, power, renewable energy or EPC projects.
- Experience with inventory control, receiving, issuing and stocktaking.
- SAP or other ERP system experience - preferred.
- Forklift / material-handling equipment certification – preferred.
- Good computer literacy (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements (OHSA).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
