Duties & Responsibilities
Store Operations
- Support daily store operations to ensure smooth and efficient trading
- Assist with opening and closing procedures when required
- Ensure store policies, procedures, and health & safety standards are followed
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, merchandising, and stock presentation
Staff Support
- Assist in supervising and motivating shop assistants
- Help allocate daily tasks and monitor performance
- Ensure staff are punctual, well-presented, and customer-focused
- Assist with training and onboarding of new employees
Customer Service & Sales
- Provide excellent customer service and lead by example on the shop floor
- Assist customers with product selection and enquiries
- Handle basic customer complaints and escalate when necessary
- Support the team in achieving sales targets and promotions
Stock & Cash Handling
- Assist with stock receiving, replenishment, and stock counts
- Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies
- Support cash handling and ensure accurate transactions
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Previous experience in retail receiving, warehousing, or stock administration or stationery retail experience is an advantage
- Strong computer skills (e.g., POS / ERP systems, Excel)
- High attention to detail and strong accuracy
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Basic understanding of stock rotation and replenishment.
- Good customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Package & Remuneration
Negotiable depending on experience
Pension fund available after 3 months' probation
18 annual leave days
