Our client in the engineering and steel fabrication industry is urgently looking to employ a Steel Fabrication Sales Representative at their organization Duties & Responsibilities

Location: Pinetown, Durban

Requirements

• Must have a Valid Driver’s license

• 2-5 years experiencein a similar role

• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

• Proven experience in sales, estimating, or steel fabrication.

• Self-motivated with a proactive approach to business development.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations: Accurately estimate steel fabrication projects based on customer requirements, drawings, specifications, and measurements.

• Interpret drawings: Read and understand technical and fabrication drawings to scope work correctly.

• Customer liaison: Communicate with customers regarding quotations, orders, job progress, lead times, and delivery requirements.

• Walk-in support: Attend to walk-in customers, identify their needs, and provide tailored product and fabrication solutions.

• Business development: Conduct cold calling and proactive outreach to secure new customers in the steel fabrication market.

• Reconnect with clients: Re-engage previous and inactive customers to generate repeat business.

• Quotation follow-up: Maintain regular communication to maximise conversion of enquiries into orders.

• Team collaboration: Work closely with the workshop and fabrication team to ensure specifications and deadlines are met.

• Project assessment: Obtain and evaluate material requirements, dimensions, quantities, and fabrication specifications for accurate estimating.

• Record keeping: Keep detailed records of enquiries, quotations, orders, and follow-ups while delivering excellent customer service.
