An oil and gas company is looking to employ a Statutory Reporting Analyst for a 12-month contract. This person will be responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of financials of complex entities in scope for Group purposes or/and preparation of Statutory Financial Statements, along with monitoring the timely completion of period end tasks for the entities in scope. The incumbent will also be the primary focal for all Group/org initiatives that impact the entities in scope. This role builds a deep knowledge of the outputs required and ways of working to deliver these, along with the tools and systems that are an integral enabler of the process.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepare Statutory deliverables as per local requirements and work closely with auditors.
- Monitor the close process, communicate any known operational challenges during close to ensure the financials are materially correct.
- Perform an independent review of the numbers and obtain support from the rest of the team on clarifications/analysis.
- Lead FS reviews and explain the Group/Statutory results before submission.
- Act as country's R&A representative on technical changes to the system, IFRS changes and other group initiatives outside standard operational scope.
- Provide support to Senior Manager and Accountants on complex issues.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- CA(SA)
- Bcom Degree or related
- 3-5 years relevant experience in a similar role
- Reporting, FS experience
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, HMF or similar.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and changing information.
