- Senior Certificate / Grade 12 plus three 3 years relevant experience in Assets Management, Supply Chain Management / Risk Management or Diploma / Degree NQF Level 6/7 in Public Administration Public Management / Finance as recognized by SAQA. Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act PFMA; Knowledge of Financial Management Vote and Trust; Knowledge of BAS, LOGIS Pages.
- Skills and Competencies: People management; Computer literacy Microsoft Packages; Good communication Skills written and verbal; Organising and Problem-solving skills; Sound leadership and management skills; Good interpersonal relations.
Duties
- Compile, update, and maintain the moveable asset register in line with National Treasury guidelines. Perform routine physical asset verifications across departments to ensure assets are accounted for and match the asset register. Monitor the asset disposal process, including write-offs, transfers, and donations of redundant or obsolete assets. Monitor asset movements and ensure proper safeguarding to prevent loss, theft, or wasteful expenditure.
- Prepare detailed asset schedules and reports for inclusion in the Annual Financial Statements AFS Process capital additions, reconcile asset accounts, and clear suspense accounts before month-end and year-end closures. Ensure internal controls are in place and respond to internal and external audit queries regarding government property
