- An appropriate Bachelors' degree / National Diploma in Financial Accounting/ Financial Management/Cost and Management Accounting NQF Level 6. A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience. Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of financial functions, practices as well as the ability to capture data, operate computers and collate financial statistics. Financial accounting procedure, methods and principles established for the processing of specific salary/financial transactions. Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act PFMA, Treasury Regulations, National Treasury Asset Management Framework, General Recognised Accounting Practice GRAP. Knowledge of financial operating systems PERSAL, BAS, etc..
- Skills: Computer skills, planning and organizing, good verbal and written communication, basic numeracy skills, ability to perform routine tasks, ability to operate office equipment, flexibility, interpersonal relations, accuracy. Values/attributes: Client service focus, integrity, committed, proactive, loyal. Conduct asset verification for owned and leased assets.
- Regular update of the Asset register and lease register. Reconcile the asset expenditure against the assets register. Maintain the register for new asset additions. Update the lease register with newly concluded contracts or extended ones. Facilitate the disposal of unserviceable, redundant, obsolete, and lost assets.
- Assist in resolving audit queries and ensure completeness and accuracy of the asset register. Assist with leased asset & disposal-related inquiries. Ensure provision of expenditure and general payments services. Ensure cash and revenue management services pertaining to leased assets. Ensure provision of asset liability and debt management. Ensuring provision of bookkeeping and financial accounting services.
DUTIES
- Management of GG Account. Check and monitor monthly GG account accuracy. Request payment of FS departments from Treasury. Revenue management. Debtor's management. Cashier Public Tenders. Expenditure management. Creditor and petty cash management.
- Overtime, S&T, ACB Recall management, Recon and payment of Fleet transactions. Cash and Bank management.
- Monitor daily debit and credit transactions on BAS and the bank account. Monitor bank balance and cash flow budget monthly payments Monthly and FYE closure. Monitor and control asset and liability accounts.
- Ensure clearance of zero accounts. Key Control Matrix KCM reporting to Treasury. Compile the bank KCM annexures. Capture and process transactions on BAS.
