- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification. Qualification that allows registration with South African Nursing Council SANC as an Enrolled Nurse. Current registration 2026 with SANC as an Enrolled Nurse.
- Knowledge of nursing care processes and procedures, nursing statutes, National Core Standards and other relevant legal frameworks such as Nursing Act, OHS Act, Patient's Rights Charter, Responsibilities, Batho-Pele principles, Public Service regulations, Labour Relations Act, Disciplinary Code and Procedure, Grievance Procedure etc.
- Competency: perform an elementary Clinical Nursing Practice in accordance with the scope of practice and Nursing standards. Promote quality elementary Nursing care as directed by the relevant health facility.
- Demonstrate elementary understanding of Nursing legislation and related legal and ethical Nursing Practices. Skills: Insight into procedures and policies pertaining to Nursing Care. Ability to function as part of a team. Basic communication and writing skills. Basic interpersonal skills and elementary facilitation.

- Development and implementation of basic patient care. Provide basic Clinical nursing care. Effective utilization of resources. Maintain professional growth/ethical standards and self - development. To ensure safe and effective clinical nursing practice. Development and implementation of basic patient care plans. Provide basic clinical nursing care.
