The spraying manager provides advice and application of herbicides and pesticides on various vegetables crops on open lands as well as in greenhouses and tunnels. This position requires an expert in agricultural chemicals identification, pre-mixing, and application on crops at the right time and in the correct quantities. The position is not suitable for a novice.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Planning of spraying programmes based on current and future growing programmes.
- Analysis and Identification of correct chemicals combinations and ratios needed for the particular crops in context.
- Detailed record keeping and analysis for audit purposes.
- Training and development of subordinates to ensure the chemicals are mixed and applied correctly.
- Calibrating, mixing and distributing of chemicals using Jacto equipment.
- Supervisory related duties.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Tertiary qualification in agriculture or related.
- Expert in vegetable crops.
- Expert in agriculture chemicals - herbicides and pesticides.
- Computer literate with the ability to create and present detailed reports to management and auditors.
- Knowledge on Global GAAP standards highly advantageous.
- Own transport essential (bakkie).
- South African citizens only.
Package & Remuneration
Market related, negotiable based on experience.
