- Grade 12 and qualified to serve as an operational member of a policing service e.g. Law Enforcement, Metro Police, Traffic Services, SAPS
- 5 to 8 years relevant experience including supervisory experience in a tactical environment SWAT
- Successfully completed the Special Task Force Training Program or City of Cape Town SWAT Training Program
- Must be able to qualify for recognition of prior learning RPL to become a Metro Police Officer
- Code B/ Code EB driver's licence
- Computer literacy: MS Office
- No criminal record
Key Performance Areas
- Supervise and provide operational guidance to ensure coordinated operational plans are developed and implemented effectively, by engaging relevant stakeholders and offering practical advice and oversight.
- Efficient management of resources to support SWAT in their operational activities.
- Manages and controls outcomes associated with utilization, productivity and performance of personnel within the Performance and Service Coordination Unit.
- Coordinate and oversee the implementation of the department's Integrated Risk Management IRM processes, ensuring full alignment with the City's IRM Policy, procedures and frameworks.
- Facilitate structured responses to internal and external audits and support the Head of Department in maintaining a risk-aware culture.
- Oversee the preparation of reports and ensure timely communication on progress, challenges and key developments related to departmental projects and initiatives.
- Providing operational and tactical support to SWAT operations.
- Manages training and skills development and the transfer of skills and knowledge
