Job Title
Spa Facilities Coordinator
Position Purpose
The Spa Facilities Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that the spa’s thermal suite, outdoor areas, relaxation spaces and associated facilities are maintained to the highest standard, providing guests with a seamless, tranquil and enjoyable experience.
The role supports the wider spa team by taking ownership of the physical environment and ensuring that all facilities are clean, safe, functional and guest ready at all times.
The successful candidate will demonstrate care, accountability and strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to maintaining luxury spa standards and enhancing the overall guest experience.
Reporting Structure
Reports To: Spa Manager
Works Closely With: Assistant Spa Manager, Spa Therapists, Reception Team, Maintenance, Housekeeping and other relevant departments.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience and Environment
Oversee the daily operation and presentation of the thermal suite, ensuring all spaces are serene, functional, clean and safe.
Maintain outdoor gardens, relaxation areas, poolside areas and hydro facilities to a consistently high standard.
Conduct regular checks of facilities, including loungers, pools, pathways and relaxation areas, ensuring they meet required standards for cleanliness, comfort and safety.
Support spa therapists and the reception team by ensuring all facilities are guest ready at all times.
Assist with coordinating and guiding guests throughout their spa experience, ensuring they are familiar with the various facilities and relaxation areas.
Revenue Generation and Upselling
Enhance guest satisfaction and support revenue generation by ensuring spa facilities are maintained to an exceptional standard while proactively promoting relevant spa treatments and services.
Engage professionally with guests in poolside, garden and relaxation areas to identify opportunities to recommend spa treatments, packages and retail products.
Work closely with therapists and the reception team to facilitate bookings arising from guest enquiries, helping to maximise treatment occupancy and revenue.
Ensure treatment menus, promotional materials and information regarding current packages and specials are available and appropriately displayed in relevant guest areas.
Remain informed of current promotions and packages and communicate these effectively to guests and colleagues.
Operational Management
Conduct daily walkthroughs of the thermal suite, outdoor areas and associated facilities to identify and address maintenance, safety, cleanliness or presentation concerns.
Liaise with Maintenance, Housekeeping and other relevant departments to ensure repairs, cleaning and general upkeep requirements are addressed promptly.
Monitor facility usage and proactively manage access where required to prevent overcrowding and maintain guest comfort.
Ensure all facilities under the role’s responsibility comply with relevant health, safety and hygiene standards.
Maintain accurate awareness of facility conditions and report any concerns or operational issues to management.
Collaboration and Accountability
Work closely with the Spa Manager and wider spa team to ensure facility standards align with guest expectations and operational requirements.
Take full accountability for facility readiness and proactively report issues, following up until they have been resolved.
Maintain high standards of professionalism, presentation and care in all areas under responsibility.
Encourage and respond positively to feedback from team members and management, using feedback to improve operational standards and guest satisfaction.
Sustainability and Resource Management
Use resources responsibly, with consideration for efficient energy and water consumption within thermal suite and spa facilities.
Support environmentally responsible practices across outdoor areas and gardens.
Ensure facilities and resources are managed in a way that supports sustainability while maintaining exceptional guest standards.

Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum Education and Qualifications
Requirement Details
Minimum Education: Grade 12
Additional Qualifications: Somatology qualification, ITEC, SAAHA or CIDESCO
Minimum Experience: 2 to 3 years’ experience in a Beauty Therapist capacity
Package & Remuneration
R11 000 a month CTC
