RESPONSIBILITIES
Treatment Room & Spa Environment Presentation
- Prepare, clean, and reset treatment rooms to Steenberg Spa's luxury standards before and after every treatment.
- Ensure towels, linens, and amenities are replenished, neatly stored, and aesthetically presented.
- Maintain immaculate cleanliness of all spa spaces: relaxation lounge, bathrooms, change rooms, steam room/thermal areas if applicable, corridors, and waiting areas.
- Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
- Participate in deep cleaning schedules and ensure equipment is well cared for.
- Ensure décor, aroma, lighting, and ambience align with Steenberg Spa setup guidelines and seasonal service standards.
Personalized Guest Experience
- Anticipate guest needs by maintaining a serene, welcoming, and unobtrusive presence.
- Observe and communicate guest preferences tea choice, blanket preferences, relaxation area seating, etc. to the supervisor or therapist team.
- Support wellness moments by preparing amenities such as infused water, refreshments, or special touches for celebrations.
- Uphold guest privacy and practice absolute discretion in all guest interactions, especially in change rooms and relaxation spaces.
Attention to Detail and Quality Control
- Conduct a final visual check of each treatment room and spa area before leaving it guest-ready.
- Report maintenance issues, damaged items, or unusual findings immediately and accurately.
- Monitor linen quality, replacing stained or worn linens promptly.
- Maintain consistency in aroma profiles, linen presentation, and treatment room setup.
- Deliver in-room spa amenities or room drops hotel guests with care, accuracy, and discretion.
Guest Interaction and Service
- Greet guests with warmth and professionalism, reflecting Steenberg's calming and grounded hospitality style.
- Assist guests in navigating the spa—locker rooms, relaxation areas, pool pathways—ensuring clarity and comfort.
- Support therapists by managing guest flow during busy periods.
- Handle guest requests promptly and communicate any special arrangements to the Spa Manager or Front Office.
Health, Safety, and Hygiene Compliance
- Follow all hygiene, sanitization, and infection-control protocols, ensuring spaces meet five-star spa standards
- Ensure correct use, storage, and disposal of cleaning materials and spa waste.
- Support laundry processes including sorting, folding, pressing, and storing spa linens.
- Maintain a clean and organized back-of-house area, supply cupboards, and laundry spaces.
Efficiency and Time Management
- Prepare rooms within the required transition times without compromising quality or ambience.
- Prioritize tasks effectively during high occupancy or peak treatment schedules.
- Communicate room status and readiness to therapists and management in real time.
- Maintain a daily shift checklist and proactively complete all assigned tasks.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, ensuring the spa is guest-ready at all times.
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Contribute to handovers, briefings, and daily operational discussions.
- Share observations, concerns, or guest feedback constructively and promptly.
- Welcome coaching; embrace learning and support improvements in procedures and standards.
- Assist other team members when required, ensuring a cooperative and solutions-focused environment.
Stock & Supply Handling
- Replenish and rotate spa stock linens, amenities, consumables, refreshments.
- Check expiry dates and product quality for all guest-facing items.
- Support deliveries with accurate record-keeping and safe handling.
- Report discrepancies or low stock levels immediately.
Laundry Support and Linen Handling
- Assist in sorting, washing, drying, folding, and pressing guest laundry and hotel linens.
- Ensure proper handling of delicate fabrics and guest laundry items.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report shortages or equipment issues to supervisors.
Pool Area Cleanliness and Service
- Maintain order and cleanliness in spa pool or outdoor wellness areas.
- Ensure loungers, towels, umbrellas, and amenities are consistently refreshed and neatly presented.
- Assist guests with simple requests such as towel service or water.
- Assist guests with towel service or minor requests around the pool area when required.
Public Area Upkeep
- Clean corridors, staircases, restrooms, and other guest-facing areas as assigned.
- Ensure high-touch surfaces are sanitized regularly and public spaces remain clutter-free.
- Ensure that all public spaces of the hotel are immaculately clean, tidy, maintained and presented to standard.
Professional Excellence & Accountability
- Take ownership of tasks, ensuring all responsibilities are completed thoroughly and consistently.
- Maintain a polished, professional appearance and calm behaviour aligned with spa standards.
- Uphold all policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Demonstrate integrity, reliability, and a proactive approach to preventing challenges or operational disruptions.
- Commit to ongoing personal and professional development, applying lessons learned to elevate guest and team experience.
