Job Title: Sourcing Specialist - Sandton Start Date: 2026-08-20 - 2026-09-19 Vacancy Type: Permanent PTA001996 Sectors: Logistics, Warehouse & Freight Location: Gauteng , JHB - Northern Suburbs Salary: R620 000 - R650 000 Annually Brief: Role Purpose The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for securing continuity and security of supply through effective sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, tender processes and contract administration. The role supports the achievement of competitive pricing, reduced contractual risk and improved supplier performance while ensuring procurement activities align with business, supply chain and financial objectives. Key Responsibilities Sourcing & Procurement Identify, evaluate and select suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, capability and business requirements. Analyse market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier alternatives and areas of innovation to support sourcing decisions. Manage procurement processes from sourcing and supplier evaluation through to appointment and implementation. Develop and maintain sourcing strategies for key or high-risk categories. Support the preparation and execution of procurement plans and sourcing activities. Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant policies, procedures, legislation and BBBEE requirements. Supplier & Contract Management Manage a portfolio of suppliers and monitor supplier performance against agreed requirements and service levels. Build and maintain effective supplier relationships and address performance gaps. Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, service levels and contractual requirements with suppliers. Manage contracts, including contract administration, service-level agreements, amendments and changes. Identify opportunities to renegotiate, improve or replace supplier arrangements where required. Monitor contract compliance, supplier deliverables and associated risks. Tender & Bid Management Prepare and coordinate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Requests for Tenders (RFTs) and other sourcing documentation. Gather and analyse information relating to tender requirements and assess feasibility. Coordinate tender evaluation processes and ensure the correct evaluation criteria and methodology are applied. Analyse supplier proposals, pricing and commercial submissions and provide recommendations. Coordinate stakeholder input and communication throughout the tender process. Ensure tender submissions and procurement documentation are complete, accurate and submitted within required timelines. Commercial & Financial Management Analyse supplier pricing, cost structures and commercial information to identify value and cost-saving opportunities. Apply financial and quantitative information to support procurement and sourcing decisions. Assist with costing, budgeting and expenditure management relating to procurement activities. Evaluate the overall commercial value, risks and benefits of alternative sourcing solutions. Monitor supplier invoices, payments and contractual financial obligations where applicable. Data, Analysis & Reporting Collect, analyse and interpret procurement, supplier and market data to support decision-making. Identify trends, cost drivers, supplier risks and opportunities for improvement. Prepare accurate procurement, supplier performance, tender and management reports. Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier information and supporting documentation. Ensure information is properly captured, structured, controlled and accessible. Stakeholder Management Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external partners. Understand and balance the requirements of multiple stakeholders when developing sourcing solutions. Communicate procurement requirements, recommendations and commercial outcomes clearly. Negotiate effectively with stakeholders and suppliers to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes. Escalate procurement, supplier and contractual risks appropriately. Administration & Process Improvement Provide effective administrative support across sourcing, procurement and contract management activities. Prepare routine correspondence, reports, tender documentation and procurement records. Maintain appropriate documentation and audit trails throughout procurement processes. Identify opportunities to optimise procurement processes, systems and ways of working. Support continuous improvement and the implementation of efficient procurement practices. Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, technology, market developments and industry best practice. Detail: Role Requirements Relevant National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related field. CIPS Level 4 or equivalent procurement qualification will be advantageous. 2–3 years' experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing or Procurement. Sound knowledge of procurement and supply management processes and systems. Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and BBBEE legislation and regulations affecting procurement spend. Good understanding of sourcing, tender and supplier management processes. Experience in supplier negotiations and commercial negotiations. Knowledge of contract management and service-level agreements. Experience in procurement data collection, analysis and reporting. Understanding of costing, budgeting and financial principles. Understanding of the technical and operational requirements of a business, including capital requirements. Strong Microsoft Office and computer literacy skills. Strong numerical, analytical and reporting abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong planning, organising and prioritisation skills. Ability to manage multiple projects, stakeholders and procurement activities simultaneously. Strong relationship-building, negotiation and influencing skills. High level of accountability, integrity and attention to detail. Resourceful, commercially aware and capable of making sound independent decisions. Ability to work collaboratively while also operating independently. Willingness to continuously develop procurement, commercial and industry knowledge.
