The Solution Architect will play a pivotal role in shaping enterprise solutions by designing, governing, and guiding their implementation. They will ensure that systems are scalable, secure, and strategically aligned with business objectives, while skillfully balancing innovation with compliance and risk management.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end architecture design across applications, data, and infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise standards, security, and regulatory frameworks.
- Design and validate API integrations, middleware, and cross‑domain data flows.
- Review vendor proposals, challenge technology choices, validate effort estimates.
- Prioritize roadmap items, manage technical debt, align with strategic initiatives.
- Translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Produce ADRs, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Identify risks in solution design and propose mitigation strategies.
- Introduce emerging technologies (AI, cloud, automation).
- Provide technical leadership during implementation.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
- 5-8 years’ experience in solution architecture or enterprise systems.
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and microservices.
- Proficiency in API design and integration patterns.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of security, privacy, and regulatory compliance (POPIA, GDPR).
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proven track record of delivering scalable, high‑quality solutions.
- Experience in telecommunication, financial services or insurance will be advantageous.
