Software Test Analyst / Test Analyst / End to End Test Specialist

Introduction

My client is recruiting End to End Test Specialists / Test Analysts to support a multi-phase Telco transformation programme.

The programme requires testers who can validate a customer journey across the full system chain rather than test components in isolation, and who can carry the operator's business users through UAT where internal test capacity is constrained.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Design and execute end to end test scenarios across the customer lifecycle, spanning order, provisioning, charging, billing, care and collections

• Build test plans, test cases and test data requirements for Mobile (prepaid, postpaid and SMB) and fixed network

• Execute system integration testing, end to end testing, regression testing and cutover validation

• Prepare and support UAT with the operator's business users, including scenario walkthrough and hands-on assistance during execution

• Manage test data preparation, including data conditioning and validation across migrating systems

• Log, triage and track defects to closure, and drive root cause analysis on critical defects

• Work with solution architects and developers to understand integration points and design tests that exercise them properly

• Validate data integrity and system behaviour across the legacy Amdocs estate and the incoming platform

• Report test progress, coverage and quality metrics to programme leadership

• Support post-cutover validation and early life defect resolution

Desired Experience & Qualification

• Qualification: Relevant degree or diploma. ISTQB certification preferred.

• BSS Transformation experience - ESSENTIAL. Candidates must have hands-on experience testing within a Telecommunications BSS (Business Support Systems) transformation programme. This is a non-negotiable requirement.

• Integration testing - Advantageous. Exposure to system integration testing across multiple platforms is preferred but not essential.

• Testing experience: Minimum 6 years in software testing, with at least 3 years testing telecommunications systems. Candidates being considered for a Lead level position require 8+ years, including 3 years in a Test Lead or QA Manager role.

• BSS domain knowledge: Working knowledge of telecommunications BSS across prepaid, postpaid, mobile and fixed line services.

• End to end testing: Demonstrable experience designing and executing full customer-journey test scenarios, not component testing only.

• UAT facilitation: Experience running UAT sessions directly with business users (not only executing test scripts).

• Amdocs / billing platforms: Experience testing the Amdocs estate, or a comparable telecommunications billing platform.

• Migration programmes: Prior testing experience on a system migration or replacement programme.

ADVANTAGEOUS

• Integration testing exposure across multiple platforms

• Test automation experience using Selenium, UFT or equivalent frameworks

• Performance and load testing exposure

• Managed services or BAU support background on telecommunications systems

• Prior delivery experience within a South African telecommunications operator
