SENIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER / TECHNICAL PROJECT MANAGERSecure Technologies | Western Cape | Fully RemoteCape Town: My client an established international technology business specialising in smart cards, RFID, secure identification and advanced authentication solutions, is seeking a highly capable Software Developer / Technical Project Manager who combines strong practical coding and software development expertise with sound business acumen and essential experience in FIDO, PKI and card encryption technologies.This is an opportunity for a technically accomplished professional who can contribute at development level while overseeing complex technical projects and ensuring that secure, commercially viable solutions are delivered successfully.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE To manage and oversee technical projects involving software development, smart card technologies, encryption and authentication systems, ensuring that business requirements are translated into effective technical solutions and successfully delivered.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working at both a technical and business level, with the ability to understand code, guide development activities and navigate complex security technologies.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

• Managing technical projects from requirements gathering and planning through to development, testing and implementation • Coordinating developers and technical stakeholders to ensure projects meet agreed specifications, deadlines and quality standards • Engaging directly with software code, system architecture, integrations and technical problem-solving • Working with card encryption technologies, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), FIDO authentication standards and related security solutions • Translating business requirements into technical specifications and practical development plans • Monitoring project progress, managing risks and resolving technical challenges • Balancing technical requirements with commercial objectives, resources and project priorities • Ensuring appropriate security, testing and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• A strong background in software development, programming or software engineering, with practical coding knowledge • Demonstrable experience managing or overseeing technical and software development projects • Essential working knowledge and experience of FIDO, PKI and card encryption technologies • A sound understanding of software architecture, system integration, authentication and information security • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities • Good business acumen, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business requirements • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills • A relevant technical qualification would be advantageous, but practical knowledge and experience are key WORKING HOURS Fully remote | Western Cape-based candidates As the business operates internationally, working hours will ordinarily align with U.S. business hours, which may require a later start and finish in South Africa. Some flexibility may be possible, depending on project requirements and the level of collaboration needed with international teams. Candidates should be comfortable working across time zones and accommodating occasional schedule adjustments when required.
