An exciting opportunity is available for an analytical and energetic Software Developer to join a dynamic manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will support system integration, programming, system monitoring and project administration, with a particular focus on SCADA and forklift monitoring systems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform administrative functions relating to projects and system integration.
- Monitor SCADA systems and assist with troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Develop, build and test reports, including SQL querying and query construction.
- Assist with programming, system testing and monitoring.
- Liaise with contractors and service providers and assist with project planning.
- Conduct and coordinate OEE, SCADA and forklift-related meetings.
- Support forklift monitoring systems, usage tracking, repairs and supplier performance.
- Assist with on-floor system activities, including PC start-up, logins and system testing.
- Monitor battery charging bays and ensure required services are completed timeously.
- Maintain SOP controls and assist with SOP development relating to SCADA and forklift usage.
- Conduct method studies, time studies and workflow analysis to improve forklift usage efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Tertiary qualification in Industrial Engineering – essential.
- Qualification or education in an IT-related field will be advantageous.
- Programming experience in C++, Python, VBA or another programming language.
- Experience with SQL querying and query construction.
- Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies will be advantageous.
- At least 2 years' experience within a Production, Manufacturing or Engineering environment.
- Previous project management experience.
- Good understanding of ISO 9001 or IATF elements.
- Ability to apply structured problem-solving techniques.
- Valid South African driver's licence – imperative.
