Requirements

Senior Certificate Grade 12/Matric. Recognized Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. Registration with the South African Council for Social Services Professions SACSSP as a social worker.
Proof of current registration with SACSSP. A valid South African drivers license and able to drive. A completed Z83 form and a comprehensive CV must accompany the application.
Knowledge and understanding of applicable and relevant legislations and policies in the field of Health Social Work including related legal and ethical practices, PFMA and Public Service Act and Regulations. Knowledge and understanding of mental health, social systems and skills to ensure that one intervenes efficiently and effectively at the points where people interact with their environments in order to promote social and mental well-being. Theoretical and practical knowledge of all Social Work Methods.
Ability to work independently and in a multi-disciplinary context. Good verbal and written communication skills, Interpersonal, Planning and time management skills and computer Literacy. Analytic thinking, independent decision-making and problem solving skills.

Provide therapeutic Social Work services at Primary Health care and specialized mental health clinics using all methods of social work including prevention, early detection, screening and promotion of mental wellbeing and quality of life.
Establish intersectoral collaborations with other stakeholders. Conduct psychosocial assessments aimed at identifying conditions of individuals, groups, families and communities. Implement the recommended interventions by providing continuous support, counselling, guidance and advise to the affected individuals, group, families and communities.
Organize awareness events in partnership with other departments, NGOs and civil society. Study, interpret, apply and give information on legislation and policies in the identified work fields. Engage in continuous professional development and in service
