Duties & Responsibilities
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Litigation Secretary to join their growing team on a permanent basis.
The firm practices exclusively in Family Law and has experienced significant growth, creating an opportunity for a professional, mature and highly organized Litigation Secretary who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
You will be responsible for
- Providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to the legal team.
- Preparing, formatting and managing legal correspondence and court documents.
- Maintaining electronic and manual filing systems.
- Liaising professionally with clients, counsel, courts and third parties.
- Managing diaries, appointments and legal documentation.
- Ensuring compliance with FICA requirements and firm procedures.
- Assisting in maintaining an efficient workflow within a busy Family Law litigation department.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications
- Matric.
- Relevant Paralegal or Legal Assistant qualification (advantageous).
Skills
The successful candidate will have
- 8–10 years’ experience as a Litigation Secretary within a legal practice.
- Previous Family Law litigation experience is essential.
- Excellent dictaphone typing skills with a high level of accuracy.
- Proficient in Legal Suite.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience with DocFox (nCino), Windeed and FICA processes would be advantageous.
- Excellent administrative, organisational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Professional, dependable and able to work effectively within a team.
