Start free — we apply for you →An exciting opportunity is available for a technically capable MEPF Site Engineer to join a large-scale construction project in East London. The successful candidate will act as the key engineering presence on site, ensuring that MEPF works are installed correctly, documented accurately, and delivered in line with the approved design and programme.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Monitor mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection installations for compliance with approved designs and specifications.
- Perform regular site inspections and quality checks on MEPF works.
- Address routine technical queries and site coordination matters to maintain construction progress.
- Escalate significant design, cost, and programme issues to the Lead Discipline Engineer.
- Assist with commissioning and testing of MEPF systems.
- Witness tests, review results, and liaise with specialist commissioning teams and equipment suppliers.
- Measure and report installation progress against the project schedule.
- Identify potential delays and technical risks and communicate these to the project management team.
- Manage MEPF snagging and punch lists, ensuring that defects are rectified and formally closed out.
- Assist with MEPF subcontractor supervision and coordination between disciplines and trades.
- Maintain accurate RFIs, inspection records, site instructions, photographs, and As-Built information.
- Ensure As-Built documentation remains up to date throughout construction, including through ACC Forma.
Minimum Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Approximately 6 or more years' relevant site experience at mid to senior level.
- Exposure to data centres, telecoms, cable infrastructure, or other critical infrastructure projects is advantageous.
- Practical understanding of MEPF coordination within a construction environment.
- ACC Forma experience would be advantageous.
- Strong technical judgement and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent written reporting and documentation skills.
