Site Engineer (Krugersdorp)

Introduction

Our client is a specialist engineering services company providing advanced concrete scanning, non-destructive testing (NDT), structural investigation, and asset integrity solutions across the infrastructure, energy, industrial, and construction sectors.

Their projects span South Africa and the broader African continent, supporting clients involved in wind farm developments, power generation facilities, bridge construction, industrial plants, and major infrastructure projects.

They are seeking a technically minded and highly motivated Site Engineer to join their growing team in Krugersdorp in Johannesburg.

The role

• Experience: 5–7 years solid construction-site experience, preferably with a recognised Tier 1 / Tier 2 civil contractor on heavy civil, mining, industrial or infrastructure projects.

• Qualification: BSc/BEng/BTech Civil Engineering or equivalent. Strong practical construction knowledge and ability to take increasing responsibility for site delivery. The underlying role profile emphasises technical construction knowledge, planning, contract administration and site management.

• Location & Mobility: Preferably Gauteng-based, but must be willing to travel and work on remote projects throughout South Africa and potentially Southern Africa.

• Commercial & CCS: Must have good working knowledge of CCS, including cost control, allowables, productivity, forecasting and cost reporting. CCS knowledge is specifically identified as a requirement in the role profile.

• Excel & Data: We specifically want someone who enjoys Excel, numbers and data processing — strong analytical mindset with an interest in developing spreadsheets, analysing productivity/cost data, tracking trends and improving reporting/processes.

• Planning & Controls: Strong in short-term planning, progress tracking, resource planning, productivity measurement and programme updates. The role should be comfortable working with rolling programmes and monitoring actual performance against plan.

• Site Management: Must understand quality/QCPs, safety, subcontractor management, procurement, plant, labour and construction administration, and be capable of coordinating multiple activities simultaneously.

• Personality: Looking for a driven, analytical, hands-on problem solver with initiative and attention to detail — someone who wants to progress from Senior Site Engineer into a Site Agent / Project Manager role rather than remain purely technical.
