Job Description

  • RPO Recruitment's client, a leading civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Site Agent to oversee the construction of a large-scale bulk water pipeline project in Limpopo. This role is suited to a hands-on leader with extensive experience managing welded steel pipeline construction projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day execution of bulk water pipeline construction activities.
  • Lead site teams and coordinate subcontractors to achieve programme, quality and budget targets.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve site challenges and maintain effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare site reports and attend project meetings.

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline NQF Level 6 or higher.
  • Minimum 10 years' experience as a Site Agent on large-diameter welded steel bulk water pipeline projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering bulk water pipeline projects with a minimum pipeline length of 20 km.
  • Extensive knowledge of welded steel pipeline construction, including trench excavation, pipe installation, field joint welding, coating, lining, bedding, backfilling, reinstatement and watercourse crossings.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, site personnel and multiple concurrent work fronts.
  • Sound understanding of construction contracts, contract administration and applicable legislation.
  • Strong leadership, organisational and team management abilities.
  • Excellent planning, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with project planning software will be advantageous.
  • Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP will be advantageous.
  • Valid South African driver's licence is essential.
