- A reputable industrial company is seeking an experienced SHEQ Manager to join their team in Muizenberg, Cape Town . The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining integrated Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems across the organization, ensuring compliance and driving a strong SHEQ culture.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain integrated SHEQ systems in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits and incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement health, safety, environmental and quality policies, procedures and work instructions.
- Monitor environmental compliance, waste management, emissions, resource conservation and environmental performance.
- Oversee quality assurance, quality control, supplier quality, customer complaints and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate internal and external ISO certification audits and ensure audit findings and corrective actions are addressed.
- Develop and deliver SHEQ training, inductions and awareness programmes while maintaining competency and training records.
- Report on SHEQ performance, KPIs, compliance and improvement initiatives to senior management and engage with relevant stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or suitable Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Quality Management, Engineering or a related field.
- 5–8 years' experience in health and safety management, with 3–5 years' experience managing ISO management systems.
- Proven experience implementing and maintaining integrated SHEQ systems.
- Experience within a manufacturing, industrial or operations-intensive environment is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, health and safety legislation, risk assessment and internal auditing.
- ISO Lead Auditor certifications and NEBOSH or equivalent qualifications are advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organisational, communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and SHEQ management software.
- Valid Code 8 B driver's licence and own reliable vehicle essential .
- Must be willing to work office-based in Muizenberg with regular site visits and occasional travel.
