- Develop, implement, and maintain the site's Safety, Health, and Environment SHE Management System to ensure legal compliance, minimise risk, and promote a safe and healthy working environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and internal SHE audits, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
- Coordinate environmental monitoring, occupational hygiene surveys, waste management, and operational controls to maintain compliance with legal and ISO requirements.
- Develop, review, and maintain SHE procedures, work instructions, legal appointments, and Group SHE Standards.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness activities, including emergency response plans, drills, and business continuity actions.
- Monitor SHE performance by analysing trends, tracking objectives, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver SHE training and provide technical guidance to promote safe work practices and compliance across the site.
- Support SHE projects by conducting inspections, providing technical input, and coordinating resources required for implementation.
- Maintain accurate SHE records, reports, systems, and regulatory documentation to support compliance and decision-making.
Requirements
Qualification
- Grade 12/Matric and National Diploma NQF 6 in Safety, Health and Environment SHE or Occupational Health and Safety OHS
- Diploma or BSc in Engineering preferrable.
- Safety Management Training Course SAMTRAC or similar certification SAFEPRAC/ NEBOSH IGC OHS
Experience
- 2-4 years' experience in Pharmaceutical Industry, FMCG or related fields including Safety Management Information
- Experience in industry machinery, chemical safety and hazardous materials management including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
